Seized/ Ceased

the two verbs here only sound alike, their meanings and interpretations differ. HOW?

The verb seize means to take hold of, suddenly or violently, to take possession by force or by authority of the law. Hence, the verb’s usage can be made manifest in sentences like:

• The girl’s phone was seized because she was disturbing the class with it
• Due to some misappropriations in the man’s business, all his documents were seized for some times.
• You have the ability and the army to protect your realm and seize them both, if you desire.
• He saw Derrick seize the wolf, and checked his horse, supposing the affair to be over
• Once a nation shows its willingness to seize foreign-owned property at will, foreign investors are reluctant to do business there again.

The verb cease refers to something being stopped or being brought to an end and this is made manifest in sentences like:

• The girl was ceased from bringing phone to school. 
• The businessman was ceased from traveling and running his business due to some misappropriations observed in his business. 
• The rain has ceased falling.    
• The grapes which are attacked cease to grow, turn brown or white, and ultimately dry up and fall off.
• So let us cease this talk of skull crushing and converse upon more pleasant subjects
